12 weeks!

So tomorrow is officially the first day of the twelve week paleo challenge Im doing with the girls from the gym! Im actually pretty stoked to get started. I think having such a big support group is going to be awesome plus everyone has been posting tons of recipes and ideas already! Taking and posting my "before" pictures tonight was a little entertaining and painful but Im ready to dive into this 100%! Cant wait to see where Im at performance wise in 12 weeks and if paleo makes a difference in my body. We will be a bunch of tough gals with all the protein intake! :)

Last night Bobby and I made the most delicious paleo meals. Both from the Primal Blueprint cookbook- quick and easy meals.
The first was a tuna salad with mayo (canola mayo from the co-op), tuna(wild caught, also from the co-op), dried cranberries, red onion, and celery. you just simply chop them all up and mix together. Delicious. Bobby made shredded chicken today in the crockpot in place of the tuna and we're going to try that this week.

The other thing we made was BLTA sandwhiches with chicken breast as the bread! Super tasty. The bacon was the BEST part! I LOVE BACON. Its like my new chocolate and totally paleo. Loaded with fat! I know that sounds sarcastic but paleo works that way. Since you aren't eating carbs your body processes fat differently as uses it as an energy source. So its actually good to incorporate some high fat foods into your diet (avocados, nut butters, and BACON).

The rest of this week in the gym went like this:

Friday REST DAY

Saturday re-did the first crossfit throwdown WOD. Yes I know, I know I was supppossse the do Fran but I chickened out, kind of. My hands were torn and I have this narly blood blister that will not disappear! Soon though Ill be doing Fran! I got a higher score on the throwdown WOD though- 143 reps! SO that was a plus of skipping Fran.

Throwdown WOD #2 was posted today and it is:

Thrusters and pullups
rounds of 10-10. 9-9, 8-8....etc. until you get down to 1-1. With a ten minute time cap.

Sounds a little like Fran! BLEH.

I have a feeling that there will be MANY posts headed this way soon due to my new commitments to paleo!
